JWF is dedicated to the comprehensive eradication of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). We work relentlessly to create safe environments where women and girls can live without fear of violence. Our approach involves advocating for strong legal frameworks, supporting survivors with vital resources, and implementing community-based programs that address and prevent violence. By amplifying survivor’s voices and driving systemic changes, we strive to break the cycle of violence and ensure long-term safety and justice for women and girls. This impact  area enables JWF, and its implementing partners contribute to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: SDG 5 – Gender Equality, SDG 10 – Reducing Inequalities, and SGD 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

At JWF, we champion the fundamental right of women and girls to make autonomous decisions about their bodies and reproductive health. Our advocacy ensures access to comprehensive sexual education, healthcare services, and reproductive rights. We support initiatives that enhance women’s agency over their health choices, promote informed decision-making, and address disparities in healthcare access, thus empowering women to lead healthy, self-determined lives. 


This impact area enables JWF, and its implementing partners contribute to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being.

We are committed to advancing economic justice and empowering women through targeted support for their entrepreneurial ventures and economic initiatives. By funding grassroots projects and creating pathways to economic autonomy, we aim to dismantle systemic barriers to women’s economic empowerment. Our focus is on fostering inclusive economic opportunities, supporting women’s leadership in economic spheres, and advocating for policies that promote financial independence and equitable access to resources for women.


 This is expected to increase attractive local job creation and opportunities for the women and girls, thus contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: SDG 1 – No Poverty; SDG 3 – Zero Hunger, SDG – Decent Work and Economic Growth; and SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

We approach climate justice through a feminist perspective, acknowledging and addressing the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and marginalized communities. JWF promotes sustainable practices and innovative solutions that integrate gender equity into climate action. Our initiatives include supporting women-led climate resilience projects, advocating for gender-inclusive environmental policies, and fostering community-led adaptations to mitigate the effects of climate change on vulnerable populations. 


This Program Focus Area enables JWF, and its implementing partners contribute to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 14 – Life Below Water, and SDG 15 – Life on Land.
